On two inspiring and exciting days, nearly 600 students from excellence classes across the MOFET Network schools in Israel arrived at the Technion to present around 70 scientific-engineering posters. These posters showcased projects the students developed throughout the year as part of an innovative research project with a meaningful social impact.
The event marked the culmination of an educational process that combines inquiry, innovation, design thinking, and the use of mathematical models. The process was led by specially trained teachers and supported by students from the Mabatim teacher education program, as part of a course conducted at the MtED Lab by Prof. Zehavit Kohen and PhD student Hadas Handelman.
Throughout the event, students presented original ideas for developing socially impactful products – in a format reminiscent of high-tech conferences. The posters were evaluated by judges from both academia and industry, creating an atmosphere of professionalism, curiosity, and a shared belief in the transformative power of science and technology education.
