Halima Sharkia – MA Graduate (2021), PhD Graduate (2025)
Halima Sharkia is a PhD graduate, and also completed her Master thesis (summa cum laude) under the supervision of Prof. Zehavit Kohen. Her Master thesis focused on the effect of Flipped Classroom in mathematics education on the conceptual understanding and motivation of Israeli Arab high-school students.
Her PhD research focused on exploring the integration of hybrid MOOCs in secondary mathematics, based on a two-phase study on the feasibility of the Simply Math H-MOOC (taught by Dr. Aviv Censor, a faculty member at the Faculty of Mathematics at the Technion) in seondary school, and the  demonstration of Mathematical Habits of Mind across both the online and classroom settings of the H-MOOC. Halima works as a physics and mathematics teacher. She holds a B.Sc. in physics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
