Professional Development for Teachers

As pioneers in the field of teachers’ professional development programs for promoting the teaching of mathematical modelling, we believe that experience in mathematical modelling assist teachers to prepare their students for today’s dynamic and changing world.

The i-MAT training program takes place within the framework of professional learning communities of teachers from diverse populations and from different places throughout the country. These partners include the municipality authorities of Holon, Ashkelon, Hadera, Ma’ale Adumim, Yeruham, Ramat Gan, Netanya, Umm Al-Faham, Shafaram, as well as the educational institutions of: Amal, Ort, Branco-Weiss, Mofet, and more.
The professional development programs are conducted in two main tracks:

1. The “golden” track, including 30 hours of training (recognized for remuneration)
2. The accelerated track, based on modules of 9-12 hours of training.

Additionally, a unique professional development program is held for leading teachers. This program takes place once a year and lasts 60 hours of training (recognized for remuneration). Through this training, teachers are qualified to lead i-MAT learning communities for teachers in Israel, which take place in a variety of locations.
